A Blanket for Preston

This is the quilt I made for Preston. It started with Tommy's. And I have made one for all my grandchildren except Kayden. His other Grandma made him one, so I knit him a sweater. (But I am going to make him one soon, it's getting to be a tradition!)

One of the traditions is that the back is minky, which is soft and cuddly.

This one is the first time I have tried applique. It turned out pretty cute for my first try.

The puppies were made from the two different browns that were on the back of Uncle Brad and Uncle Don's quilts. (Brad decided he wanted a cozy quilt, just like Tommy's but bigger, Don decided that he wanted one too.)

This is my Preston with the quilt.

This the darling family.

I love my family.

Preston James Carter

Preston was born Friday night, March 5th at 9:53PM. I almost missed his birth. Emily wasn't sure if she was in labor when she called me a 5:30 PM! She said that she was having pains every 45 to an hour. I told her to write down the times and and time the length of the contractions. She called back at 6:40 PM to tell me the TIMES!!!! She had many and the last few were 5 minutes apart! I told her to get to the hospital while it was still somewhat comfortable to move and I would come. Friday night traffic, but luckily for me I was in time to see him born. Unluckily for Em, I was of no help to her. I got in her room at 9:25.... She was a champ, when she realized there was no way out of this situation, she pushed, obeyed instructions and this dear little boy was born, 20 minutes of pushing! The nurses kept telling her she was amazing for a first time mom! Aaron was a great support and coach.

Preston all cleaned up. I love the hairdo...

All this crying is good for him, gets that oxygen through those lungs and pinked him up.

The new Parents! Overwhelmed...

I was able to stay for a week. When I came home I got a cold. I had my days and nights all mixed up! This is the picture I received when I was sick and couldn't visit.
I love iPhones...I miss my boy.

Three Weeks Old! Is that a smile?
